Swans crowd the foreground of a snowy blue scene of the white hills of Hoy

Swan vista

Between the dark shapes of two houses a flagtone lane leads down to the sea. The narrow opening reveals shore shed's uneven roof and there in the sea a yole, its sail a narrow triangle.

24 islands 24 hours

An island hangs mid frame topped by a small cloud and growing from sea fog. In the foreground seven geese sit and stretch on the grass, between them and the island a clear blue sea.

After Eight

In this black and white aerial photograph, a huge stone X sits like a kiss at the end of a love letter on the rough moorland.

Ten from box six

aerial image in black and white of a landscape of fields beside the sea, one field catches the eye, it has been harvested in a cross, the effect is suggestive of a giant st andrews flag

A found kiss

Rich golden stooks of oats are being gathered in by a woman in a blue head scarf and dress, behind her a man assists her with her old fashioned harvesting by hand.

Harvesting names

Slide and mount, writing reads Hoy High Lighthouse on top of slide and at the bottom, St. Magnus Church Egilsay. There in the picture are both places, blended in a double exposure.

Neither here nor there

Aerial photograph of snowy Hoy hills rising above whitened fields and covered houses, the sky with blue snow-laden clouds breaks to let in some sun.

Wonderland

A dark deep blue scene of crashing waves, black rocks and the hills of Hoy rising from the mist.
