The Days Never Seem The Same, the Gunnie Moberg & Margaret Tait exhibition at Stills Gallery, Cockburn Street, Edinburgh closes 28 October.
A selection of the work will be travelling back north for an exhibition at Northlight Gallery, Stromness in November.
Travelling south today are the two Highland Park residency artists, Frances Scott and Brittonie Fletcher. After a varied week of weather, Brittonie remarked on the truth in Gunnie’s quote ‘The days never seem the same’. The artists managed to get to an extrodinary number of locations and after some jiggling of days they got the best of the days for photography work and the wettest and windiest for research at Orkney Library & Archive.
Thank you to the Pier Arts Centre and Prof Mark Edmonds for stimulating tours and to Stromness Museum for their support too. It was one of those weeks that go past too quickly but simultaneously seem to have lasted longer, it was great to have them around. Thank you to Stills for arranging the residency and to Highland Park, the sponsors. We look forward to sharing some of the artists’ thoughts in due course (once they dry out – and we mean the rain).
Below are some of the installations photographs from the show at Stills.
